The Invisible Traps

The Invisible Traps

A group of people were talking. A few seconds later, they started laughing out loud cursing, “You’re crazy! You’re idiot! ” They continued talking. After that, they laughed out loud again, this time saying “Hoi monkey! You slow-brained!” and the cursing went on and on.

It all happened during their laughter. This situation is as if they are very happy and comfortable uttering out those cursing words. Do they not realize that what they say is being counted by Allah? Did they think that if their friend did not take it at heart, Allah did not count?

No Turning Back To Overshot Words

Rasulullah (PBUH) said : “Those who are guarded by Allah from the evil tongue and genitals, he is ensured Jannah.” [HR At-Tirmizi]. Aisyah r.ha. told that she once said to Rasulullah (PBUH): “It’s enough Safiyyah is like this and like that for you.” Therefore Rasulullah (PBUH) said: “You have uttered out a word, that if it is mixed into the sea water, it will definitely be murky!”

She then told of someone’s behaviour (the dark side), therefore Rasulullah (PBUH) said: “I am uneasy to tell about other’s behaviour, even though I am given plenty (of the world’s wealth)!”  [HR Abu Daud & At-Tirmizi]. This hadith is a hard reminder regarding talking behind people’s back and evil of the tongue. Beware when talking, because that’s where the invisible traps can crush us afterlife.

We have met with people who insulted others whereas he was still in the mosque. Also there are those who lie when he is still at the door of the mosque after prayers. There are grocers who lie to buyers, whereas he just performed prayer in the mosque. Subhanallah!

Did they not realize that those sayings were sins? Or were they trapped without realizing it? In fact, this is the invisible taps that will drag them to Allah’s Jahannam. Na‟uzubillah min zalik.By right, we should talk with good words. Fill it with wonderful and sweet words. Rasulullah (PBUH) said: “And the good word is sadaqah.”  [HR al-Bukhari & Muslim]. Rasulullah (PBUH) also said: “Be scared of Allah’s Jahannam by sadaqah, even it’s a piece of date.” However if those who do not have a piece of date, sadaqah with good words.” [HR al-Bukhari & Muslim]

The Honour of Those with Good Words

In Cairo, Egypt, there was an Al-Quran teacher who was very obedient to Allah. He taught Al-Quran and guided those people to memorise the Al-Quran at his house complex. For years, he never failed to arrive early for his teachings, after the Subuh prayers, til sunrise.

One fine day, he waved goodbye to his students before ending the class, as if that will be his final class. On the very same day right before the Zohor prayer, his students received a bad news regarding his death at 10 o’clock in the morning. The next day, a student went up to his wife. His wife then told the student: “Yesterday he came home at half past 7 in the morning. He then said “I will die at 10 o’clock in the morning!” I thought he was just kidding around. He then said: “Please prepare my breakfast.” I prepared the breakfast, and we ate together.

At half past 8, he went into the bathroom and bathe for quite sometime. Then he came out and sprayed some perfume, like he was preparing for the Friday prayer. He then put on his best clothes and started to recite the Al-Quran. A few minutes before 10 o’clock he said: “I will die at 10 o’clock, therefore please forgive me. Please leave my wrong doings behind.”

I was extremely shocked and speechless. A few seconds before 10 o’clock, he tucked himself into bed and recited the Shahadah, and he passed away peacefully to be with Allah forever. My muslim brothers & sisters, just have a look at the life of those who mind their words, reciting the zikr and teaching the Al-Quran. He also forbade his tongue to use words that are forbidden by Allah. He never did say bad words, vulgar words or talk behind people’s back. This is the kind of people that Allah ensures his success afterlife.

May we belong with them who gets graced by Allah S.W.T and be saved from devastating invisible traps. InsyaAllah.
