Syeikh Mustafa Masyhur once said: “Educating is not everything, but everything begins with educating.” The first part of the phrase does not literally mean that education is insufficient to hinder oneself from perceived vices. Otherwise, what‟s educating for? Therefore it is completed with the second phrase which emphasizes that in any circumstances, everything has to start by educating. Beginning with those educational moments, a da‟i uses all the knowledge gathered to align with the choices in life. Moving on, a da‟i becomes the changing agent to his family, colleagues, in ceremonies and even on the public transports.

There is a couple of sighing coming from da‟is. First and foremost, da‟is are worried and not ready to venture out the education circle, to be involved in the hustle-bustle life of outsiders. Secondly, there are of those who prefer freedom in profession and ambition, feeling that education puts their life into trammel. Therefore, bear in mind that educating is not everything, causing obstructions to their dreams. Even though the da‟wah movements are now more into political arenas & country administration, educating is still the pillar to the wide-spread of da‟wah. Also by educating, professional da‟i will bloom and grow in their areas of expertise and spread the da‟wah through their career. However, all the achievements and remarkable abilities budded from educating.

Usrah is Stairway to Jannah

For commoners, doctors, engineers, lawyers or even politicians and celebrities, usrah is never distant from them. In the saying of Allah (meaning): “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided…” [Ali-„Imran : 103]

Usrah is resembled as „the rope of Allah‟, for us to understand Islam and in it there are many other Islamic ways that abide to Islamic law. Just imagine a world of darkness & misleading, we ought to have a trustworthy rope for us to hang onto. That is where usrah plays its roles as a linking medium of reminder, reflection and construction of strong religious principles. We indeed need it in times of the ignorance becoming additionally creative and the world is in set to dress-up and trap us. Without usrah, the true principles that has been instilled within oneself for ever since, is shattered when it is put to a continuous tests – poverty or luxury. That is simply usrah, a paradise on earth and it is a way to the everlasting Jannah.
